Pride & Passion: PFLAG Event

Wednesday, April 10th from 6:30–9:30 PM at the Royale.Greater

Boston PFLAG is proud to be part of the legacy that Jeanne Manford started by supporting her gay son in New York City in 1973. Jeanne wrote a letter to the editor and marched, which evolved into a support group and spiraled into a national movement. Allies, parents/caregivers, and families are at the heart of our mission, and they work tirelessly to support, educate, and advocate for LGBTQ+ people and their families.

Today, five decades later, PFLAG continues the work of Jeanne and countless other volunteers and gather annually to celebrate the PFLAG collective commitment to creating a safe and inclusive world at Pride & Passion. Pride & Passion is the annual fundraiser that honors exceptional allies and LGBTQ+ individuals with the Cornerstone of Equality Award. They embody Jeanne's spirit and use their voices to make the world a better place for LGBTQ+ individuals in Massachusetts and beyond.

This year, the 2024 Cornerstone of Equality Award goes to Chris Mosier. Chris Mosier (he/him) is a trailblazing athlete, activist, and founder of TransAthlete.com. In 2020, he made history by becoming the first transgender athlete to compete in the Olympic Trials in the gender with which they identify.

Nancy Nogood is emceeing the event which will include musical guest - award winning singer-songwriter, Catie Curtis.

The event will include a paddle raise to generate funds for Greater Boston PFLAG, a signature cocktail, edible glitter, an aerialist performer, and lots of laughter.
